General Info

Located right on the charming stretch of High Street, Scandimania Coffee House at 29 High St, Stamford PE9 2YH, United Kingdom, feels like one of those cafés you instantly relax into. It’s casual, welcoming, and effortlessly stylish, making it a natural stop for locals, tourists, and anyone wandering through Stamford looking for a great coffee break or a laid-back lunch spot.

From the moment you step inside, the atmosphere sets the tone. This café keeps things simple but thoughtful, focusing on quality, comfort, and a menu that clearly reflects care in every detail. Coffee lovers will appreciate how much attention goes into each cup. The Cortado is smooth and well-balanced, perfect if you enjoy bold espresso softened just enough by steamed milk. The Cappuccino, paired with a slice of Lemon Cake, feels like a small ritual rather than just a quick order, especially during a slower afternoon.

Food here is just as memorable. One standout is the Smashed Avocado and Cashew Pesto on Sourdough Toast, which combines freshness with a satisfying crunch. It’s filling without being heavy and works beautifully for lunch. For something lighter, the Smashed Avocado on Crisp Bread delivers clean flavours and a pleasing texture, making it a popular choice among regulars. Meanwhile, the Toasted Banana Bread with Cinnamon Butter brings a comforting sweetness that feels homemade and familiar, ideal alongside a warm coffee.

Scandimania Coffee House is well-suited for casual dining, whether you’re stopping in solo, meeting friends, or taking a break from sightseeing. The café welcomes tourists and locals alike, and the relaxed setting makes it easy to linger without feeling rushed. Practical touches also enhance the experience. Accepts reservations for those who like to plan ahead, and NFC mobile payments make checkout quick and convenient.

Its central location adds to its appeal, placing it within easy reach of Stamford’s shops and historic surroundings. Reviews often mention the friendly service and consistently good menu, which speaks to the café’s reliability as much as its charm. Overall, Scandimania Coffee House blends good coffee, thoughtful food, and a comfortable atmosphere into an experience that feels genuine and easy to enjoy.

What customers say?

“ I often visit this lovely little independent cafe when I'm in Stamford but I had never eaten there before. The coffee is always good and we tried the sourdough toast with cashew pesto and avocado. It was so delicious! The cakes looked so good too and I will definitely be eating there again. ”

“ Always amazing coffee and the staff are lovely. I go in 2-3 times a week, it's by far my favourite coffee shop in Stamford! It's also the perfect spot to sit in the sun and watch the world go by. ”

- Matt -

“ Scandi Coffee is hands down the best coffee spot in town. As an Aussie, I’ve got pretty high standards when it comes to coffee—and this place absolutely nails it. Smooth, rich, perfectly brewed every time. The staff are super friendly and genuinely make you feel welcome. The food is fresh, tasty, and always beautifully presented. Great vibes, amazing service, and top-tier coffee—can’t recommend it enough! ”

“ We visited Scandimania Coffee House in Stamford for the first time and were really impressed. It’s a lovely little coffee shop with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff were friendly and served with a smile, making us feel instantly at ease. The coffee was wonderful, rich and well made, and the pastries were equally delicious. It’s also dog friendly, which is always a bonus for pet owners. Overall, a charming spot that we’ll be happy to return to. ”

“ Great coffee (The Skandi latte is rather special) also loved the toasted banana loaf with cinnamon butter. Couldn't resist the hummus and smashed avocado on sourdough. What a treat, we will definitely be back! ”

- Tony Froggatt -

“ Always a great place to eat or get a takeaway lunch. The menu is quite innovative. I had homemade pesto and smashed avocado on sourdough, topped with edible flowers this time. ”

“ What a little gem in the middle of Stamford. First of all, the coffee is great. Good extraction - not bitter or sour, tasted fresh and well made. The coffee menu could do with expanding to maybe more specialist types (v60, Chemex) but that’s just a personal suggestion. Nevertheless, what they’ve got on the menu at the moment is lovely. Food wise, only tried their limited toasted sandwich menu (due to covid) but was not disappointed. Great mix of flavours, tasted fresh and very filling. I also appreciate their packaging, which seemed to use minimal plastic and their incentive to not give cup lids as standard but rather indicate where they’re placed to reduce waste. The only negative I’ve got about this place is the attitude of some (not all) of the staff which has come across very hostile, unhelpful and unprofessional. ”
